Are Dental Visits Covered by Medicare?

Children

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule provides access to benefits for basic dental services such as examinations, x-rays, cleaning, fillings, extractions and root canals. Eligible children will have access to a benefit cap of $1,000 over a two-calendar year period.

Treatment is bulk billed and there are no out-of-pocket costs. To be eligible a child must be aged between 2-17 years and their family must receive Family Tax Benefit Part A or a relevant Australian Government payment.

To find out if your child is eligible, contact Medicare or give us a call on 03 9888 2523.
