Am I having a dental emergency?

A dental emergency can mean many things, which is why we always encourage your call when you’re unsure.

Common signs of a dental emergency may include:

  • Toothache
  • Jaw pain
  • Swelling
  • Broken tooth
  • Broken restoration
  • Tooth knocked out
  • Ongoing bleeding
  • Soft tissue injury

If you notice oral health changes that fall outside these common signs, we recommend reaching out to a dental team member who can assess your symptoms and make the safest determination for your oral health and comfort. In some cases, a small chip or similar issue can wait a few days if you’re not experiencing pain. In either case, a team member can tell you how to care for the issue until you see the dentist.

Your Mount Waverley dentist treats dental emergencies as soon as possible. The goal is to relieve pain and save your tooth or reverse your emergency.

If you’ve experienced an impact trauma or injury outside of your mouth, however, we encourage you to visit your local emergency department first. Your safety is the top priority.

We Are Here for You
